We pour single-origin espresso, batch brew on a V60, and bake a small daily menu of pastries and all-day brunch. No fuss. Just good coffee in a room that smells like it.
We're not a chain, and we're not trying to be. We're a neighbourhood spot with a small daily menu, a couple of baristas who know your name, and beans roasted to order by friends in Brunswick.
Drop in for a quick espresso at the bar, settle in for a slow V60 with a book, or book the back table for a longer brunch. We'll keep the coffee coming.
From a single 4-hectare lot in the Konga washing station, Gedeo Zone, southern Ethiopia. Light enough to drink black, complex enough to think about for a while.
Tasting notes: bergamot, white peach, jasmine, a clean honey finish. Body like silk.
Available as: V60, batch brew, or — for the brave — as a single-origin espresso on our La Marzocco.

Big windows, reclaimed timber, a few plants. The room is small on purpose — we'd rather you have a seat than wait in a queue.

Velocity Group began as a hole-in-the-wall espresso bar run by two friends who'd just spent a year working on coffee farms in Honduras and Ethiopia. Eleven years later we're still pouring the same way: one cup at a time, by people who care about it.
We work with three small roasters in Melbourne, source pastries from a bakery two streets over, and pay our baristas above award. That's the whole business model.
